Smoky Hummus Spread

I add this spread to my grilled veggie panini.  It is delicious as a spread or as a dip.  The kids and husband gave it an A+ and asked if I could make it for tomorrow’s dinner…so it has to be a good recipe.

1 can chickpeas, drained but reserving the liquid

1 1/2 cloves garlic

2-3 Tbsp. reserved bean liquid

1 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika

dash of salt

Juice of one lemon

3/4 tsp. liquid smoke

3-4 Tbsp. water (to thin)

Blend in a food processor.  Add more water to thin if needed.

Serve as a dip for carrots, celery and jicama…or use as a spread in Veggie Panini Recipe.
